Okay, so this was MUCH easier than expected. I used the Philosopher's Wool method. The yarn is Lionbrand Fisherman's Wool (which I've got A LOT of...) I had to take the skeins down to hanks. Each hank is about 45g. The yellow could use an other dipping, I think I would like it brighter. Now what to do with it? I'm thinking an entrelac vest or sweater (if there's enough... or I could dye more) The book mentioned they use the Canadian strawberry and the US strawberry to get two different reds. Looking at the book, it looks like the Canadian strawberry is cooler (more blues undertone) and the US is a warmer red. All in all a fun way to spend a crappy day. |
