I got on a roll yesterday and finished up the saddle shoulders, seamed everything and tried to finish the neckband for Inishmore.

I say "try" as I'm not happy with it. My laziness came back to haunt me (as usual). I didn't read the directions (someday I'll remember that that's what they're there for, eh?), I didn't want to wind a new hank and I was almost out of yarn and I was tired of knitting it. So my neckband is way too short (and I guess I was suppose to decrease as I picked up stitches.

Current WIPs

Pattern: Cables 101 Vest Source: Twists & Turns Yarn: Cascade 220 Color: Dark Green Heather Needles: 5''s & 7's Gauge: 20sts x 28 rows to 4" in st st

I'm not going to worry about the wide neckline, as I hate things too tight around my neck (and most patterns seem to hit my neck tightly), but I will wind a new skein and add an other repeat. Then it's just a matter of weaving in the few remaining ends and blocking and it's all done. The thing that amazes me is that I started this sweater when I weighed 214lbs. I have since lost 55 of those pounds, yet this fits me perfectly. That's scarying me a bit (it's a 52" finished size). I guess I have no clue how I'm acutally built. Anyway, the color in the picture is completely wrong, as I had to manipulate it quite a bit (early morning and really overcast.. hmm, is it raining out?... of course, as I've got to run to the grocery store this morning). I'll get a better picture when it's actually finished some time this weekend. Just because I had the camera out this moring:

I finished up the sleeve for Inishmore yesterday and started the saddle. Should have it done today. (the saddle, not the sweater).

I will not discrimate against a yarn based on it's color, fiber, manufacturer, or retail outlet.

So I may actually finish this baby up yet! I think I'll do the seaming after I finish the saddle, then do the neckband. Not much else going on. I'm working on the occassional charity scarf, but that's about it. Well, I've tried to write more today, but it just feels like filler. I am going out tonight for a little impromptu SnB (but we're meeting at Victory Brew Pub, so I'm not sure how much knitting we'll do!)

Tick Tock Tick Tock... the clock is ticking down. In some ways this is good, and in some ways this is bad. Inishmore is painful to work on. I'm tired of it, yet I want to get it done. Every row is tortureous and I didn't get much done on it yesterday. There aren't many days left in October... then I remember, hey, this is a self imposed deadline, and if I go into November to finish it, then I go into November. In other ways, the clock can't go fast enough. I got the Official Xbox Magazine yesterday with their review of Halo 2 and I'm unbelievably excited about November 9th. I don't think there's been a more anticipated game here in the States... (probably similar to any Final Fantasy release in Japan). Matt and I are already talking "strategy" on how we're goint to play it. I don't want to play it during the day by myself. It's something we'll want to share. Not a lot of pics today (I'm sure Emma meant "knitting pics" in my comments from yesterday), but I don't really have much to share... so let's do the Monday Morning Pet Pics that I was too lazy to deal with yesterday.

Man, doesn't this look cosy: fire in the fireplace, favorite toy and favorite afghan. Life doesn't get much better than that, does it?

I had a super fabulous time at the ChesCo Stitch n Bitch Yarn Crawl. I didn't buy much (2 skeins of Noro's Kujaku to make a Multidirectional Scarf), but I fingered a whole lot and made some mental plans on possible future purchases. We're already talking about where we're going fo the next one... I did start the scarf, so that's the first project cast on in 4 weeks. Not bad (and I'm almost done with it), but I did spend some time with Inishmore over the weekend. I'm on my last repeat before I hit the saddle. Should get that done today, then I can work on the saddle this week. Still on track for finishing this baby up by the end of October. I'm antsy to get back to my Cables 101 Vest. I'm at the armhole shaping on the back and I'm missing working on it. I just want to get Inishmore done and off of my To Finish List. I do have a Monday Morning Pet Photo, but I'm feeling very lazy this morning, and don't feel like downloading it. Oh, and yesterday was my 2nd blog anniversary. I can't believe I'm been blogging for 2 years.
