Knit Alongs

Just a quicky check in. I need to do a little housework before I'm back to playing my game. I actually didn't get to the store to pick up Halo 2 until late afternoon on Tuesday. Matt and I had an eye doctor's appointment and got new glasses (and I got new contacts). Well, I couldn't really play that much on Tuesday thanks to those lovely drops. I played almost all day yesterday and the game is very good. Some definite frame rate issues, which really surprsied me (even in cut scenes) and the melee' attacks are disappointing (it was one of the cool features in the first game). It is definitely a sequel and the story is very fascinating (as was the first one). A good game is like a good book or movie, except you have to figure out how the charactor solves the problems (it's not done for you like a book or movie). Not all games bother with this feature, but it's the most important part of the game to me. It's like an interactive movie (tho' I still say the best storyline in a game is the Legacy of Kain games). No knitting being done (surprised?)

Finshied up the back of the Cables 101 Vest and did one shoulder saddle (and attatched it). I have cast on for the front, and I'm ready to do my increases and set the pattern. Love, love, love this pattern. I found the cables very quick to memorize and there's enough going on to keep my interest (yet not so complex that I'm constantly thinking about what I need to do). Perfect. Kudos to Janet Szabo for the design and many many thanks to Kristen for suggesting the pattern. I really don't remember enjoying knitting a project more...

Not much else done this weekend. I did finish up an other scarf for the JDRF Black Tie Gala in March. I also did pull out the Dalraida sweater in Lush. What a nice project. So soft, such nice cables. Yummy. I'm not sure how much knitting I'll be working on for the next couple of days, as tomorrow is the Big Day. Yep, Halo 2 is available tonight at midnight at one of our local EBGames. While I'm tempted to go get it at midnight, let's face it, I'm a complete weenie when it comes to staying up late and I'll never make it. I'll go tomorrow morning and get it. I'm also going to treat myself to a new sports bra. I just wish I could find one in my size instead of shoehorning into something too small. Hopefully that will change as I continue to lose weight. I would love to be able to buy off the shelf bras instead of mail ordering from a specialty store. Well, I want to get as much knitting done today as I can so I can play tomorrow, but here's the Monday Morning Pet Picture. Here's Gena sleeping in Jake's bed while Matt's in the shower.
