Anyway, so what's your average knitter going to do when a project goes wrong (again) and she's frustrated with everything? Well, go yarn shopping, of course! I went to AC Moore and picked up some yarn. Got some really nice merino/cashmere blend yarn (at AC Moore? why, yes, they now carry some luxury yarns!) and did a quick little hat for Matt. (the green stripe is left over from his Wonderous Woven Cables II sweater)

At some point, I'll need to fix the Cables 101 Vest, but I think taking a little break from it is a healhty idea. I'm sticking to some simple, mindless knitting for a bit (and playing a video game).

My irritation level is very very high. We can't get rid of my problem and none of the software scanners are finding the source. To make matters oh so much better, I had the Cables 101 Vest all done with the exception of button and blocking when Matt tried it on. The armholes aren't deep enough. I've already frogged back the front ribbing, but I've got to deal with taking the whole thing apart (and undoing some ends that I've already woven in). Yet an other knitting project that I royally screwed up. I don't think I've ever made a project that I didn't screw up in some kind of major way. I guess I'm not nearly the knitter that I like to pretend that I am.
I guess I also should add that I haven't lost any weight since mid-November. I'm looking very hard to find some kind of success in my life right now and I simply don't see any. I'm going to play video games the rest of the day and try not to wallow in my own self pity.

I'm on the buttonband on the Cables 101 Vest so I'll have it done by the end of the weekend (if not tomorrow). I'll have to see what buttons I have and get Matt to pick out what he likes (I'm guessing we'll go with a wooden button).
Not sure what I'll work on next. I'm tempted to work on the Shawl Collared Aran, but the KAL doesn't start until mid-January. Might do a little UFO research to see what strikes my fancy (and maybe find something that's close that I can get done by the end of the year).

We had a lovely lunch out then went to the movies (The Incredibles, which we loved). However, not a lot of knitting got done.
Jake and Gena went to see the vet yesterday too. Somehow it's really discouraging to have a dog lose more weight than you have over the last 6 weeks (I guess because we control her diet better than we control mine?). Jake and I are still struggling on.
We've already been to and from the grocery store and they're all put away (having Matt around does come in handy) so I can spend the rest of the day with my neglected knitting (I hope). I would really like to finish up the right front of the Cables 101 Vest and get it all seamed and ready for ribbing.
I have 3 more gifts to wrap and then I'm officially done with all the holiday shopping/wrapping. Now I can just relax and enjoy!
I spent some time yesterday on the Cables 101 Vest and I should be able to finish up the right front today (hopefully, as I think Matt and I will go out for lunch then see a movie). All that's left is the second shoulder strap and the ribbing! Woo-hoo! I'll have this sweet baby done in time to maybe even get it under the tree as one of Matt's gifts.
