Whew, this seems like a busy month! I got all the knitting/crocheting done on the blankets for Project Linus. All the crochet ones are done (and in the dryer), but I still have the ends to weave in on the garter stitch afghan. I don't think I'll use this pattern again (pdf file). I'm sticking with crochet, as I really hate weaving the ends in on garter stitch. sUsAn tagged me with a TiVo meme: How much space is left on your TiVo? Actually, quite a bit. We don't usually save things after we watch them. There's a few favorites, but for the most part we keep it fairly empty. Have you bought a DVD of a TV series and if so, which one? Well, not a complete series, but we've picked up a couple of favorite episodes of South Park and we have the first season of The Simpsons. Oh, does Poirot starring David Succhet count? we have almost all the Poirot episodes. We also have Longitude, but that's more of a mini-series rather than a tv series... What was the last TV show you watched before readinig this message? ESPN's Sportcenter (as we do every moring during breakfast) List 5 Shows you won't miss: I don't think there are any shows that I "won't miss". However, here are some shows that I have on "season pass" on the TiVo: Waking the Dead, NUMB3RS, Arrested Developement, The Dave Chappelle Show, South Park, Knitty Gritty Three people to send this to: I'm going with fellow Stitch n Bitchers as I know they have TiVo... Kate, Lauren and Nicole. Okay, back to the knitting thing. I did work a few rows of the SCA yesterday, but I think I forgot to mark a row the other night while working on it at SnB, so I've got to double check to see when I do my cable. I'm getting so close to getting the front done! Well, I guess I really should weave in the ends on the garter stitch afghan so I can get it in the washer. Have a good weekend!!!

Just doing a quick post today. No pictures and not much to update. I didn't get a chance to knit on the Shawl Collared Pullover yesterday. I realized that I need to get my blankets done for Saturday (and that includes washing), so I've been crocheting a border on one of my blankets. (I always underestimate how long borders take "gee, that one just needs the border and the ends woven in, that won't take long". I spent all day yesterday crocheting a border.) I'll try to finish up the "dishcloth" blanket on size 17 needles (I'm on the decreases finally) and then tomorrow I'll weave in the ends and run 'em all thru the washer (I try to get out as much dog hair as I can). I'll sneak in a row or two of the SCA today. I miss it!

Picture Day!!

The comparison of the Wool of the Andes (top) to Black Water Abbey (bottom) for the Marilyn pattern. I've washed both swatches, and even tho' I think the Wool of the Andes yarn has better stitch defnition, I just love the color of the BWA and I feel that there's enough stitch defnition to be comfortable with it. It actually washed up nicer than I expected. I can't start yet... one reason is I don't have long enough 7's and the second....

The front of the Cozy Shawl Collared Pullover is moving along well. I'm halfway thru my 6th repeat, and that really only gives me about 24 more rows before the ribbing. Then just the back!!!  I'm still really enjoying knitting this. That's unusual this far into a project. Usually by now, it has become work and I'm ready to put it aside. Even though I have been thinking about a lot of other projects, I still enjoy picking this one up and working on it. However, I still can't wait for it to be done so I can wear it!!! (and start a few other things....

No pictures again today. I've had to do some software updates and I still have to deal with the old computer to transfer from my camera. Those are my excuses and I'm sticking to it. It has nothing to with me being completely lazy. Oh wait, yes it does. Anyway, I'm still knitting away on the Cozy Shawl Collared Pullover. I have 5 repeats done for the front, and looking at the sample of the pattern, I should only have 2 plus repeats to go. I'll verify the length as I go, but I want this to hit mid hip with short ribbing. Then just have the back to do! A little seaming, some ends to weave in a little block and then it's done. I'm going to try to get a page set up for the Marilyn KAL today. That way those participating can decide when we want to do an official start date. I'm sure I'll be casting on before that... patience is not my strong suit. Updates: the Marilyn page is now live, so be sure to sign up for the KAL!!! Oh, and the spring issue of Twists & Turns is up! 2 potential projects: the slipover vest and the slip stitch cardigan. I'll have to look a little more closely, but both look very tempting....
