I've picked up a headcold and I feel like absolute krap. I need grocercies, but they'll have to wait (luckily, I stock my pantry just in case all the grocercy stores close).
My computer/internet connection is out to annoy me this morning; with great success. Pages don't want to load and I keep losing connection. (we won't discuss Pagebuilder: notice I still have this week's posting on the page, as I can't archive it).
Now the big disappointment. I met some knitting friends on Saturday, and one of the knitters is also making the Shawl Collared Pullover and her armholes looked much larger than mine. I came home and checked the pattern. Basically, since I'm working mine flat, I had to pick up the stitches along the sleeves (and I didn't think of marking where I was supposed to join the sleeves in the round). Long story short: I only picked up half the stitches I needed. So instead of a roomy 48" finished sweater, I ended up with a 42" sweater.
I've thought about a couple of solutions: block the krap out of it (I could wear a 44" for a slim fit sweater). This is my current thinking. I could add a panel down the sides of 16 stitches to make it 48". Or I could give it to Matt when finished (and he would look nice in the sweater). Or I could frog back to the armhole and re-do it. (the least appealling of of the options).
I'll think on it, put it aside for a bit and work on some other things. Looks like I may be starting a Diamond Patch KAL. Both Kristen and Carissa are thinking of making this, and I have one in my UFO closet. Anyone else interested? A summery project sounds very appealing right now...

That's pretty much all I knit on yesterday, but I did sneak in a few more rows on the Cross Over Top.
I've got baaaad spring fever. It's cold and we've had some snow. (I think that's why I'm enjoying the Cross Over Top so much right now). I may pull out the Spring Forward Cardigan today and restart it. Just the saddles, but I really would like to finish up the SCA (so I can start Marilyn....
Have I mentioned that I have a lot of projects going????
Again, I've been trying to not spend too much time on the computer during my MIL's visit. If I missed an email, let me know (I think I'm caught up, but I may have missed an email. Let me know if I didn't repsond back).
Computer time may have been limited, but that doesn't mean the knitting isn't getting done. I'm really in a grove right now. (no pictures this morning, so use your imagination!)
The bright yellow baby sweater is almost done. I'm on the second sleeve. Just need that and the buttonband (and I've gotta hunt down some buttons) and it's done. The Cross Over Top (which I'm loving!!!!) is at the armhole shaping for the back. The Shawl Collared Pullover is slowly still going along (I think I have 3 more repeats to go!).
Carissa has her swatches up for Marilyn on her blog (go vote for your choice) and I'm getting itchy to cast that baby on! Want to join the KAL? Just let me know!!!
It also looks like I'm not the only one to make large swatches! Joan (who helped me find my two extra skeins of the Wool in the Woods cotton yarn) bought some for herself and is swatching it up. It's a Cindy sized swatch!!!! LOL! Man, that's a pretty yarn.

Things have been a bit busy here at Knitting Park. Matt's brother celebrated his 40th birthday and as a surprise, his mother flew up from Florida. So I've been busy with house preperations and then entertaining.
We went to see the Dali exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Wow. I'm a big Dali fan. I just hate the way they do these special shows. It's a cattle process and with the audio tours, people just bunch up in front of the painting that have an audio aspect and you can't even get close. That's fine for me, as I'm more interested in his "studies" and earlier work.
I have been knitting. Here's the proof:
The front of the Shawl Collared Pullover is done and I've seamed up the sleeves. I'm working on the back (3.5 repeats to go!!!)
I did finish the DK weight socks, but as with every sock I've tried to make, I'm not happy with them. They're not long enough and I'm not happy with my bind offs. I've tried a couple and either they're too tight or they look sloppy. I'll keep playing until I either get neater or they aren't as tight.
Last, but far from least is the Wool in the Woods yarn that I've decided to make into the Cross Over Top from Sally Melville's The Purl Stitch.
