Starting TBD
I'm sitting here looking at my screen and thinking about what I should blog about. I'm just not inspired by anything.

I'm in a bit of a downward spiral right now. I'm not satisfied with any of my projects. I don't feel like starting anything new and nothing is really holding my interest.

I'm overly defensive right now about everything (geez, I even feel like the
weather is my fault) and I'm just not good company. So the blog posting may be a little sparse for the next little bit while I try to figure out where my life is going...

Finshied 4/7/05
I've moved my favorite blogs
to a
seperate page.
Well, I ignored all my knitting today and created a page for the Leisure Arts Crochet Sampler Afghan. That's my first HTML table...

Current WIPs
Okay, I'm completely over the lack of shaping on the Filigree Lace Jacket pattern. Yes, the photo is deceptive, but I no longer care, as it's a nice little knit (and just think how much more work doing waist shaping would be...). Anyway, the lace pattern is very simple and I'm loving the way it's working up.

However,
Kristen did mention in my comments yesterday about clipping the back to pull the waist in, and I like that idea. I may knit ties if I think I need it to pull in a bit. We'll see. I still think the lacey stitch may make it drape enough so that's it's not overly boxy.

Part of the reason I assumed waist shaping (apart from the photo, of course) is that
White Lies Designs focus is on shaping. I mean, is there anything more shapely than the Shapely Tank? (gotta finish that baby one of these days!). A perfect pattern for anyone ready to tackle short row shaping.

I admit that I'm struggling with my projects again. The
Delicate Summer Jacket was the smoothest project I've ever done. It was fast, it was easy, and I really didn't run into any "issues" with it. A true rareity.

I can't say that about any of the projects that I'm working on right now. The
zippered hoodie "Suzanna" from Cool Crochet is still sitting next to me waiting for me to tackle the hood (but it did dawn on me that this hood is purely decrative so I need to get over it and just get it done).

I've also hit a snag with the
Spring Forward Cardigan. I'm having some sleeve issues. I've done almost all my decreases and I tossed it on and the sleeves are going to be too tight. I'm going to pull back and work the decreases less often. I may even work even for a few more inches before I start the decreases to account for my upper arms.

The good news is that I've had consistant phone service for 24 hours... and I'm starting to feel a little optimistic (actually had two techs here yesterday and they think they found the problem... with the line. It has nothing to do with the install or our equipment).

So today will be a problem solving day. Or mindless afghan  block day. We'll see how it goes....

Wow, my first blog entry this morning was really depressing, and the more I read it the more depressed I got.

Okay (shaking off bad mood) let's try this again! Think positive, Cindy... (*cough*)

The
Spring Forward is steadily progressing. I love this pattern (yes, I know I've said that before, but remember I'm trying to think positive this morning, and I really don't think I can state my love for the sweater enough).

I started an other cardigan yesterday.
Kristen has reassured me that a girl simply can not have too many cardgians (which is good, as I've lost count on how many I have currently on the needles).

I will say that although I do love the lace design of this sweater, I find the photo of it VERY deceptive. The
photo (which is what I used to make my pattern buying decision) shows waist definition. I therefore assumed that the pattern was shaped. It's not. The sweater was adjusted on the manequin for the pattern photo to give the impression of waist shaping, but the sweater is in fact worked straight. So I am a bit disappointed, but I still think it will be okay. I may have to make it shorter (long and boxy sweaters make me look short and heavy... well, emphasises that I'm short and heavy). So straight sweaters like this look better on me if they hit closer to my waist rather than the lower hip area.

Or maybe I'm wrong and the drapiness of the lace pattern will flow over my body and not just hang straight down? Ooops, here I am trying to be positive this morning, and I got all negative again. Dang. Either way, I'm just swatching it right now. Granted, I'm swatching it over 220 stitches, but at least I know my swatch is accurate!!!

Well, things are still a bit wonky with the change over to fiber optics. My internet connect is fab, but we don't have reliable phone service. It's also hard to have this kind of problem over a holiday weekend.

However, it was a very productive weekend.
The current love of my life (well, as far as knitting projects go). The most perfect cardigan pattern. Ever. I'm better than half way down the first sleeve. I will say it's a good thing I love moss stitch! LOL! The Cotton Plus has really great stitch definitition and I'm getting beautiful drape (one of the reasons I love moss stitch. Not only do I love the way it looks, but the resulting fabric is just so lovely).

Hmmm, what else did I accomplish? Well I did finish block #14 on the
Leisure Arts Sampler Afghan. I like this block a lot. I could see a whole afghan done in the stitch.

Well, I did start an other project. Yet an other sampler afghan. Well, actually it's the same pattern as the Project Linus Scrap Sampler Afghan, but in a solid color. I just took a couple of group shots this morning, but I'll set up a page and scan all the blocks in. (I'm using 2 Leisure Arts crochet sampler patterns to make this).

I've done enough cream colored sampler afghans for the time being, so this one is in "light thyme" and I love the color. It's light enough to show off the stitches, yet something other than cream!

I will say these little blocks are great little projects. They don't take long to work up (I swear I take longer doing the borders than the actual square) and make for good TV watching work. So I have 2 afghans to make from these 2 booklets. When I get tired of the solid, I'll switch over the the scrap Project Linus one. They're actually great summer projects, and hopefully by fall/winter I'll have a couple of nice cozy afghans when we need it.

I need to do a grocery run today, but the more I think about the more I'm thinking I may wait. The grocery stores will need time to restock from the holiday weekend. I'll either go later this afternoon or maybe even wait until tomorrow....

Doesn't help that I want to watch the Tour de France this morning (yes, I'm Tivo'ing it, but it's the Team Time Trial, my very favorite day in the Tour. It's just so beautiful to watch!).

If you're following the Tour, be sure to read
David Zabriskie's web blog (it hasn't been updated since the Giro... but he's a bit busy right now). Read thru the archives. He's very funny.
