Oh, You Cable O!

I fell a bit short on my goal for the Cable O's Vest yesterday. I had really hoped to get to the armhole shaping, but I've got 4 more rows to go. I hit the "big" cabled row (the one where every rib needs to move) and just couldn't bring myself to do it.

However, it is getting there, see....

I also know that once I get to the armhole and V neck shaping, there's really not much fabric to work on, so it'll go a little more quickly. Well, that's what I keep telling myself.

I feel bad, as I've been sorta whining about this project. It's making Matt feel guilty. For no reason. I chose the pattern (which I love) and the yarn (which, for cotton, isn't bad to knit with... just maybe not with this many cables) and in the long run, while it's taking me a while to knit (thanks to the cotton/cables combo and I can only work 2-4 rows at a time before I need to take a little break), it's well going to be worth it. This vest is going to be gorgeous.

So here's today's Holiday Challenge goals:
  • Must get to the armholes on the Cable O's. No excuses!!!

  • at least one seam on the Sampler Afghan

That's it for today as far as my Holiday Challenge goals. Tonight is Stitch n Bitch and I'm really looking forward to it. I missed the last one thanks to the dentist appointment. Not sure what I'll take. Since the Cable O's is going to be in the "shaping" mode, I need to be able to concentrate (oh, and I guess I need to pull out the directions and even read them). The afghan is a little big to lug with me at this point. I could use something fairly mindless. Maybe I'll take the Scoop du Jour. I'm easily bored with stockinette stitch, so doing it while I'm chatting is probably good!

So that's the plan! Off to catch up on blogs and email! (40 days until Christmas, btw)
