Starting TBD
I finished the back on the crochet cardigan and I've started the front. It's just zipping along, but I definitely won't have it done by Saturday (but I didn't expect to).

I also finally finished up block #11 for the
Leisure Arts Sampler Afghan. A lot of cables every 4th row means I only worked on it a few rows at a time.

I've started the 12th block, which is a simple knit and purl block. Should go a little quicker.

I'm also playing a new game:
Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath. This one is a lot different than the other Oddworld games (no Abe) and a lot less platform. It's actually a shooter with "live" ammo... meaning you collect critters to shoot at the bad guys. The chippunks are very chatty and talk smack to you (and your other ammo) when you have them loaded. I've laughed out loud several times.

Well, I'm off to check out my blog reads then get down to some knitting and/or crocheting....

Well, I dragged my friend Betty out shopping with me yesterday and I actually bought 3 pieces of clothing (a pair of capri's and 2 tops). My sense of size is waaay off. I know my measurements, yet my brain can't quite translate that into how I actually look. Anyway, apart from trying on a lot of clothes, it was a great day.

So not a lot of knitting or crocheting done. I would looove to get the crochet cardigan done in time for the party Saturday, but I still have one more repeat for the back, then the fronts and sleeves, then the finishing. It's already Wednesday, so it ain't gonna happen.

Here's an other picture of the back (I think it shows the pattern a bit better)
Thanks to Matt at
Crowing Ram
for the button.

I don't think the picture show's it's minty freshness, however, so here's a more accurate picture of the color ("borrowed" from the Elann website).
I really like the yarn, so that means it's been discontinued, right? It crochets very nicely and light weight crochetable cottons aren't always easy to find... but it's the quest for yarns that is my "real" hobby!

Well, one day after promising to post more pictures, and I don't have any to post. I could just use this, and reverse it so it looks like a right front... because that's exactly what the right front looks like.

So the Cropped Cardigan Redux is progressing. The back and both fronts are done (and blocked, I might add). The first sleeve is started. I decided not to do them together. It always sounds like a good idea until I realize that I really don't like juggling two balls of yarn (maybe why I don't enjoy fair isle?)

The crochet cardigan is moving quickly. Just a few more inches for the back. It's going to have a lovely drape!!!

Kate asked me in my comments yesterday how Matt did on his time trial on Friday. I completely forgot to update! Well, the weather was horrible, so I didn't go (it was cold and wet with a nice chilly steady rain). Matt got stuck in traffic (Friday night commute with bad weather is not a good mix). This time it was Matt's own inexperience that hurt him. This was his first time trial and he wasn't familar with how to start, so he lost a few seconds at the start. Overall, he did pretty well with an 11th place finish (out of 50 riders).

Well, I've got lot's o' knitting to do. I also need to do some clothes shopping (one of my least favorite things to do in the entire world). I don't have any shorts that fit and I need something to wear to my dad's 70th birthday party on Saturday. Think anyone would notice if I just wore my old faded leggings and oversized tee shirt, like I wear around the house?

I spent some time going thru the Knitting Blogs Ring over the weekend. I haven't done that for a while. I find most new blogs thru links on blogs that I read. (I also moved my usual read blogs to a seperate page so when Blogroll is down, it doesn't effect the loading of my blog. As it did on Friday.) Anyway, I noticed that I actually don't "read" much on the blogs. I look at pictures. I like to see what people are knitting, so I realized that I really need to be more consistant about the photos on my own blog. So here are some updates:

The Cropped Cardigan Redux is moving fast. I'm almost done with the right front which then only leaves the sleeves. I think I'll do the sleeves together (and note to self: don't make them too long, like you did the last one!!!!)
I mentioned on Friday that I had started a crochet cardigan. I'm making a Melissa Leapman sweater from her book Crochet With Style. The original pattern calls for Lustersheen, but I had problems getting gauge and I wanted it in cotton. So I bought some Catania in Aqua Frost to see how it works. I think it works beautifully:
It's working up very quickly and the change in pattern every row makes it more interesting for me.

I also plugged away on the latest block for the
Leisure Arts Sampler Afghan. I'm about 3/4 thru the latest block.

I'll try to be more consistant with pictures. Hopefully I'll have a picture of the finished right front of the Cropped Cardigan Redux tomorrow!!!!
